Sodom Redux?

To be honest, I am depressed.

I know that some people believe Christians should never be depressed, even downbeat.

But even Jesus reached those moments when He wept from sadness or frustration.

When I see the willful, evil, intentional destruction of our nation and our world; when I see the hyper-aggressive assault on our children by the lowest of the world’s scumbags parading as teachers, administrators, counselors, doctors, and legislators; when I see the frantic march to nuclear war led by our elected uni-party in Washington; when I see the starving, suffering, and despair in third world and undeveloped nations intentionally inflicted by the globalist leaders and their sycophants; when I see the celebrated embracing of overt evil and Satanic practices by our “entertainment” and “sports” elites, I sometimes feel myself sinking into a pit of despair.

I feel helpless.

I feel like I’m tied to the railroad track and a steaming locomotive is barreling down on me.

Do you ever experience those moments of despair when you look at all of the craziness that has engulfed our nation?

But I think that maybe the thing that drives me most to distraction is how unaware so many people are. Normal, hard-working, decent, patriotic, God-fearing, kind, caring people. People who literally cannot recount a single story that’s happening in the world on any given day. People – even mature adults – who are so tuned out from everyday life and so tuned in to their electronic devices, their diversionary entertainment, and just the distractions of everyday life, that they do not know anything about the myriad dangers they face.

A few days ago, my wife and I spoke to a prominent local business owner (who is quite wealthy and conservative!) and discovered that he had never heard that President Trump had been indicted and was in New York being arraigned.

Now I could understand if he had not heard about the particulars of the indictment, but to have no clue that any of it had been unfolding over the past weeks? And I know for a fact, that he is not alone. Some of my neighbors are just as clueless.

And I know fine Christians who know what is going on at the local school or in the local government, at the local library, or in the greater nation, yet seem to assume that everything will work out okay because, after all, we have a constitution and a court system that will protect us. Somebody else will straighten it all out.

They have no idea how malevolent and dedicated to destruction our enemies are. And I’m not even talking about the Chinese Communist Party or Vladimir Putin or Islam. I’m talking about the American Left, LGBTQ+, the globalists, and the Democrat Party.

They are literally filing straight ahead, quietly compliant, like sheep to the slaughter.

I recently heard Tucker Carlson ask why “America’s professional Christians” are not standing up and screaming about the treatment being given to Canadian pastors by the Justin Trudeau government, which is rapidly becoming as oppressive as the Chinese government.

Yesterday, I heard a young conservative talk-show host asking why Austin, Texas’ megachurches do not marshal thousands of their congregants to show up to protest drag queen shows for children. Instead, they do nothing and let a few dozen secular conservatives do the heavy lifting.

Why are pastors refusing to speak out against the rush to transgenderism and the physical and medical castration of little boys and the physical body mutilation of little girls at the insistence of their gay teachers and educators, governors, and even the President?

Do they not know that this is Satan’s greatest desire? To destroy those who are closest to God, the little children.

Maybe they just don’t care. Is it because it may draw recrimination or cancellation upon them and obscure their “feel good” message?

Many have said that abortion is the offering of our precious children to the god Moloch. I believe that is true. And when a nation takes that step, it will surely incur God’s wrath.

But, after decades of lethargy, and with the foresight and determination of President Trump, America finally marshaled the strength and will to end America’s sanction of that evil practice. We did not fully end the practice, but we have effectively ended America’s official approval of the practice.

So maybe that is why, suddenly, transgenderism and the grooming of vulnerable children in our education systems has burst to the forefront.

If Satan cannot physically kill our babies with impunity, then he and his followers will try to destroy them by confusing them, deluding them, and defiling them.

Man is God’s greatest creation. Satan’s most coveted goal is to destroy God’s most beloved creature. The creature Jesus gave His life to redeem.

If you are reading this post, you are probably “awake” to what is happening all around us. But maybe you have been a silent observer?

I truly believe God will hold all of us responsible if we do not stand up and speak out. If we know the truth and do not share it, will God just turn a blind eye to that?

All of us should, first of all, PRAY earnestly that God will continue to reveal TRUTH in our nation and our world. That He will open eyes and stir hearts.

Then we need to TALK. Get informed about what is really going on and start telling those around you who may not be awake. Your friends, your family.

Share news stories. Forward commentaries. Spread the truth.

The word of God says, “you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) But the first requirement in that promise is that you must KNOW the truth. If you never hear it or know it, it will not make you free.

That’s where we start, with earnest prayer, then with spreading truth to anyone who will listen.

Jesus told His disciples that the days before His return would be like the days before God destroyed the world with the flood, saving only Noah and his family.

“But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” (Matthew 24:37-39)

Though I am certain that sin of all kinds flourished in Sodom and Gomorrah, the story that Genesis 19 relates focuses on the attempts by the sexual deviants of that city to force themselves on the two angels who appeared as men to Lot. Even though Lot offered the crushing crowd of perverse men his two virgin daughters to use at their pleasure (What father would do that? He must have sensed his guests were not mere men.), the crowd refused them and tried to force their perverted desires on the angels.

Of course, those angels forcibly removed Lot, his wife and his two virgin daughters before they destroyed the two cities with fire and brimstone from heaven.

So, my takeaway is that the sexual deviance and perversion of the citizens of Sodom is the sin that tipped the scales for God.

Why should we believe it will be any different for America or the west?
